I did it. I tried the trending AI prompt to remove smart TV bloatware. Ads on your TV, microphones always listening, and your TV connecting to other devices on your network to share or steal your data sucks. The constant surveillance of you and your data so it can be sold to advertisers, is an awful part of the "monetize everything" stage of capitalism we are in. Take back some privacy with this rare, ethical(?), use case for AI.

www.cleanyour.tv is a great way to use AI that doesn't feel soul sucking, dirty, or immoral. The team behind it provides a prompt for you to copy/paste into an LLM and that's pretty much it.

Change a few settings on your TV, type in your TV model to the prompt and click GO. You LLM will connect to your TV and turns off all the crap that comes preinstalled to track you. Crap that slows down your TV's performance. Their homepage says,

"Switches off ads and bloatware and puts a small, clean launcher on your TV. No root. Nothing uninstalled. One command undoes it."

This took about 20 minutes. I had 0 issues. My TV boots faster. Changes inputs faster. Loads apps faster. If you have a compatible Android or Google TV and want to have one less thing tracking you, give this a try.

I have linked to the official GitHub Repo below and the website that has walkthroughs and info on what you can do if you don't have an eligible TV.
